To audit a course you must first register for that course. Then, download an Auditor Registration Form or pick one up at the Student Service & Referral Center (SSRC), 107 Moulton Hall. The slip must be signed by the instructor and returned by the student, with photo ID to the SSRC by the 10th day of class in the semester. The student may also place a course on audit during advanced registration.
The billing system calculates the tuition and fee charges, any other charges, and applies payment and any financial aid to all accounts and automatically refunds any excess via mailing a check to the student. For correct and current information, the student should review the Withdrawal Policy Refund and Reduction in Hours Refund Policy sections in the Student Accounts website.
Students who wish to withdraw from the University must obtain clearance from room and board and other financial obligations. Consult the catalog for responsibilities of students who withdraw from the University.
Students who must withdraw from the University do so by reporting in
person, with photo ID, or by letter to the Student Service & Referral
Center, Moulton Hall, Room 107, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday
through Friday. No grades are assigned to courses dropped during this
period.
After the tenth day of classes -- Students who must withdraw from the
University do so by first reporting in person, with photo ID, or by letter
to the Student Service & Referral Center, Moulton Hall, Room 107.
WX grades will be assigned.
Students who must withdraw from the University do so by first reporting
in person, with photo ID, or by letter to the Student Service & Referral
Center, Moulton Hall, Room 107. If the approval is granted, instructors
will assign a withdrawal grade (WX, WP, WF) for each full semester course
or short courses that are within their allowed withdrawal period. Short
courses that have not started will be dropped completely. If a student
has already completed a short course, that course must be graded, and
the student will be allowed withdrawal from their other courses with withdrawal
grades assigned by their instructions as above. However, since a grade
has been earned, this is not a university withdrawal, and there is no
reduction of tuition and fees billed for the semester.
Last Day for any student to withdraw from the University is the Friday
of the twelfth week of classes. In case of medical or other extenuating
circumstance(s) beyond the control of the student which would make withdrawal
in the regular way impossible, it is the student's responsibility to complete
the Request for Withdrawal from the University and include a letter that
identifies the medical or extenuating circumstance(s). This form may be
obtained from academic advisors, Graduate School, University College,
or the Office of the University Registrar (SSRC room 107 Moulton Hall)
or at its website. If medical or other reasons make it impossible for
the student to complete the form, then a letter requesting withdrawal
that explains the situation with appropriate verification and the student's
signature will be sufficient. Regardless of the circumstances of the withdrawal,
the student must obtain clearance from room and/or board obligations.
Any student withdrawing after the eligible refund dates is fully liable
for any unpaid amounts needed to conform with the Refund Policy.
A student may withdraw from a course during the program change period without the withdrawal being shown on the transcript.
After the tenth day of classes but prior to end of the eighth week of classes during any regular semester, a student may withdraw from a full semester course with a grade of WX upon complying with the following steps:
A grade of "F" will be given to students who (1) fail to officially withdraw from a course in compliance with the above procedure; or (2) register for a course but do not complete course requirements.
A student should consult the course/withdrawal calendar for specific withdrawal dates. For courses taken during a term less than a regular semester, a proportional withdrawal period will apply.
The social security number is requested as the best and most effective way to uniquely identify you for the purpose of accurately processing and maintaining your educational records. Classifying is changing from Unclassified undergraduate to a major. An Adult Learner should not complete another application, if in school. To classify, the adult learner must first obtain a Classification Clearance form from the advisor in the Academic Advisement Center in Fell Hall 340 and then follow the current procedure for changing an Undergraduate Academic Program in the major department of choice. If not an adult learner, the student must complete a readmission application for the subsequent term. Admissions will then review records, verify that supporting documents are present, and if the student is admissible, classify the student into the requested major.
All undergraduate students with less than 25 semester hours and all
students who are classified as Undeclared or Unclassified students are advised
in the University College Academic Advisement Center, Fell Hall 340, 438-7604.
All undergraduate students with 25 or more earned hours are advised in
the Academic Department with the exception of Communication, Psychology
and Applied Computer Science. “Business majors are advised in the

The University Identification number (UID) is a university-specific identifier that provides increased security with regard to identity theft. Because the Social Security Number (SSN) has meaning beyond its use as a unique person identifier, there is potential for abuse. The UID is a nine- digit number from 800-50-0001 to 879-99-9994.
Contact your academic advisor for direction in applying for a time-conflict override.
The Academic Progress Alert is a report sent to all undergraduate students for each 100 level course in which they are enrolled. Instructors will issue letter grades (A-F) or report that no meaningful grade is available, and provide optional information regarding attendance (satisfactory, unsatisfactory, unable to determine), to the Office of the University Registrar by the published deadline.
The Office of the University Registrar will process the grades and send the grade reports to students at their local addresses as soon as possible after reporting, but no later than the ninth week. The grade report will list the grades earned, attendance information and GPA for 100 level courses only. Students are encouraged to discuss their academic progress with their instructors and advisors.
