The Registrar's Office has the charge of evaluating and placing transfer credit on the student's academic record. Total transfer hours applied to a degree program is 90 hours from a 4-year school or a combination of 2-year/4-year. Maximum from a 2-year school is 66 academic hours plus 4 hours PE activities.
Students who have earned a baccalaureate-oriented associate degree from a regionally accredited institution in the United States will be considered to have met the General Education requirements. In the case of Political Science 105, if the equivalent course was completed at an accredited college or university in the state of Illinois, it is considered to have met both the U.S. and Illinois Constitution requirements. If the equivalent course is transferred from an accredited college or university in another state, it is considered to have met the U.S. Constitution requirement.
The evaluation and placement of transfer credit will be completed after students have been accepted to the University. Continuing students who enroll in courses at another institution in the summer should request that an official transcript be sent to the Evaluations Office after summer grades are awarded. Students planning on taking courses at another school (other then Illinois community colleges) to be transferred to ISU for their major/minor should complete the Transfer Credit Acceptance form (PDF 19KB) & mail it to the Evaluations office. There is also information about the On-line Course Catalog, Second Bachelor's Degrees, and University Studies available.
